Question:
I was doing a little research on the web, and came across a couple of
places selling non-corrective contact lenses without a prescription -
and shipping them to the US.
Both were from the UK:
Is this legal? Maybe laws are different in the UK. I'm not going to order
from them, but could there be legal ramifications in the US for ordering
these so-called non-prescription lenses from overseas?
What I found really odd was that the base curve and diameter of these lenses
were listed as "standard". Hmm.
Answer:
I don't know about the laws in various countries regarding dispensing contact
lenses, but as a contact lens wearer myself, I think anyone who uses contact
lenses without being properly fitted by a doctor is just asking for problems.
