Question:
I'm looking to get new glasses soon, and don't want to wait, which is
what one has to do at Frame and Lens and at For Eyes. Pearle Vision has
been running several ads recently pushing their low prices and "one hour
service may be available". They have locations in Cupertino (Vallco?)
and Sunnyvale Town Center Mall.
Please mail/post any experiences you have had with Pearle, especially
with the local branches.

i am very pleased with pearle vision center on market street (between
2nd and 3rd) in san francisco. i had my eyes examined there in
october and got two pairs of glasses then (one nice pair, and one
freebie pair with a coupon i had in case something tragic happens). i
was also examined and fitted for contact lenses at that time, and
received a pair of disposable contacts (i had meant to try these a few
years ago, but they were not available in my prescription at that time
... now they're regularly stocked).
i returned to pick up a three-month supply (priced slightly higher
than discount contact lens houses ... when i figure in the delivery
cost and add in the instant gratification constant i feel i did very
well at pearle). the lenses fit better than others i've had in the
past, and the glasses look and feel great. the examining optometrist
was professional, knowledgeable, and efficient.
