Is it better to wear contacts with safety gogggles, or prescription safety glasses?

Question:
I would like to get some feedback from people who wear corrective eye wear. Is it better to wear contacts with safety gogggles, or prescription safety glasses? Right now, I wear prescription safety glasses, but i've been thinking about switching to contacts. Which is the best way to see the ball?

Answer:
I switched to contacts about 10-12 years ago and found that my peripheral vision improved on court. With prescription eyewear I found that when I would look up for a ceiling ball, or around to sneak a peek while my opponent was hitting the ball, I'd often end up "out of frame" with my corrective lenses and lose focus. With contacts, your eye movement will no longer be limited to basically "straight ahead" as it is with prescription eyewear. I still keep both types in my bag -- a set of ASTM eyeguards fitted with my prescription (in case I lose a contact), plus my regular protective eyewear. Works for me.
