Question:
I was wondering if there is a place in the bay area where I can
purchase contact lens over the counter. I do have the prescription
from my doctor. I see some listings on the web which sell contact
lens, but would prefer going to a shop instead.
Answer:
If you have a prescription, it isn't "over the counter".
If you have a prescription for contacts, it specifies the brand, base curve
and power, and you can buy lenses from any retailer because they should all
provide the same product.
If your prescription doesn't have brand, curve, and power, then your doctor
shouldn't call it a "contact lens" prescription. There are retailers who
will sell you lenses unlawfully. With them you can pretty much choose
whatever you want. Ask for a trial pair and see what they say... :)
