Question:
What do you know about Sears Eye Care Vision Center?
Answer:
It just occurred to me that there has been a lot of downplay with dental
centers in shopping malls and so on. It made me wonder, what about Vision
centers? Ok, when I first went to an eye doctor some odd number of years ago,
he was in the local PearleVision establishment with a rather large commercial
store of frames and lenses. Well, I decided recently that I was going to a new
eye doctor. One whom I became acquainted with through a friend and an
interview. He runs a private practice and has frames and so on...even though
they have to be sent away to be put together.
It has me thinking now. I never really had a problem with Pearle, I just liked
this new Dr better. Pearle may be a conglomerate chain, but yet it's not bad at
all. So if there isn't a problem with that, what's the big hairy deal about
dentist offices in shopping malls? Ok, I can see the point if you don't see the
same dentist each visit, but what if you do? What about emergencies? Ahh the
thoughts do grow.
Imagine this, you're out of town, away from your eye doctor, away from your
dentst both of whom have private practices. You get a toothache...the Sears
Dental Center says they take emergencies right off the street. Do you go
through the phone book or go to that dental center? Your vision gets funny due
to some problem you encounter, sure, you may go to the ER, but what about the
eye doctor should that be necessary. Do you search the phone book or look for a
center that will advertise taking emergencies?
Things to think about...and I'd love to hear your thoughts!
