Question:
I'm just wondering the least expensive place for me to buy eye-glasses right
now. I've been checking around and the cheapest I've found so far is Sears. I
can get any frame, lightweight lenses, and a 2-year warranty on the lenses and
frame for about $175. Does anyone know of a cheaper place?
Answer:
I recently went to America's Best Contacts & Eyeglasses. I am very
pleased with what I got. Their cheapest deal is 2 pair of glasses (exam
included) for $59.99. Here's the catch--you have to select your frames
from the ones they designate, and the ones you can get for that price are
not the most fashionable, and they also have them in the most obscure
location in the store. They have many other frames, though, that cost
quite a bit more, but still less expensive than other places. I got the
2/$59.99 and had one pair made into prescription sunglasses for $45
extra. The glasses are fine, but the service was just mediocre. I
wouldn't recommend it for a first timer, because they weren't very good
at fitting them to my face, but since I knew how I needed mine adjusted,
they were able to do what I asked them to do.
