Question:
I just had an eye exam this past weekend and will be needing glasses. I
narrowed it down to 3 frames - Oakley, Kenneth Cole, and Silhouette. I
forgot to write down the first 2 model numbers but have the Silhouette
I saw and tried on is on top of my list. It's the Silhouette M7402.
These things are made of titanium and are bendable. Best thing I like
is that it's so lightweight, I can hardly feel that I'm wearing
glasses. As far as the lens go, I'm looking at the ones that change
tint when I go outside. It kinda doubles as sunglasses. What I'm
wondering is if there are any brand/model frames that I should look out
for and other things to get on the lens.
Any experience about Silhouette Eye Glasses?
Answer:
Silhouette is a good brand of frame. I have no first hand experience
with Oakley but I've heard plenty of bad stories about their frame
quality. Kenneth Cole I'm not familiar with at all.
The 'bendable' titanium is very resilient but remember nothing is
unbreakable!
The Transitions tint is also very good, but be aware (1) it doesn't
change colour instantly, and (2) it doesn't go fully dark if you're in a
car.
The other lens option you may want to consider is a multicoat
(anti-relective coating). This may well come as standard with the type
of lens you'll be getting anyway.
