Question:
I was wondering if anyone out there wears toric contact lenses. If you do
I would appreciate it if you could share with me your opinions on them. I
know that they are weighted differently on one side to help with astigmatisms.
Does the different weight cause any vision problems? Also, how expensive
are the toric lenses now?
I would also appreciate it if you could directly email me with any replies and
I'll post the results if anyone is intereted. I don't go into this website
to often.
Answer:
I had an experience with Toric lenses about 2 weeks ago. I only wear one
lens and was not satisfied with standard contacts because of the lack of
astigmatism correction. Optician suggested a toric lens. It took 3 weeks
to get in and I wore it for about 1 week. Vision was fine. But the lens
itself was VERY uncomfortable. MUCH, MUCH thicker than regular lenses. |
(Coke bottle contacts?!?!). Anyhow I took it back and went back to wearing
a regular lens (Edge III). I also added a lens to my other eye which is
only -0.25 or something. But it was enough to offset what I gave up in
the Toric lens. The Toric's are much thicker and I thought much harder to
handle. And i always felt like I had something in my eye. The Edge III's
just seem to disappear when I put them in. YMMV.
