Question:
My wife and I recently ordered 10 boxes of Acuvue lenses from
Lens First, were charged for 10, but were shipped only 9. We
phoned Lens First several times trying to resolve the issue, but
they repeatedly stated that they were not at fault because the
lenses are shipped directly from "the manufacturer." Then they
sent us a fax stating that "...per the manufacturer, your order
shipped in full. Therefore, we are unable to issue credit or ship
additional lenses..."
After receiving this "answer" from the Lens First Action
Department, I faxed a letter to LensFirst's president but
received no response. I also contacted Vistakon to find out
exactly what "the manufacturer" had told Lens First. The Vistakon
representative told me that they do not sell lenses to Lens
First, nor do they drop ship for them since "they are not an
authorized distributor."
Has anyone else had similar problems with Lens First? Can anyone
recommend an honest dealer with low prices? Thanks!
Anyone know Wholesale Contact Lens?
Answer:
Yeah, I can reccomend a honest dealer with low prices! Your local OD! The so called
savings espoused by these "wholesale distributors" are lost in shipping fees,
membership charges, lost shipments, and physical damage such as blindness! If
someone sells you a pair of glasses in a wrong base curve, you live in a fish bowl
for a while until you get fed up with it. If you get contacts that aren't exactly
as prescribed, and maintain them in means that aren't exactly as prescribed, you
will be gambling with your sight! I'm personally sick and tired of seeing people
with corneal ulcers, apoxia, infections, and erosions . All of these problems are the result of trying to save a buck or
thinking that "I know this is OK!" How much do these people save when compared to
how much they must spend on a corneal transplant that may not work? I no longer
shed sorrowful tears for these "penny pinchers". If you can afford contacts to
begin with, deal with the one person who can catch problems before they become
serious! Contact lens wear was once, and still is, described as a manageable
pathology. If you venture out on your own, you are crazy and you'll find out that
you earned the results. The OD will be absolved from any malpractice the first time
you fail to follow his instructions.
So! What is your sight worth to you? If you want an honest value to a set of
Accuvue CLs, try in the $20 to $27 range for a six pack! Anything less must be
questioned with what is being sacrificed! Even in this price range, is $42 a year
worth your sight? If your OD charges more than this for Accuvue CLs, mention that
you can get them for this price and ask him to match t! They usually will just to
keep you in their care and avoid complications.
